Toro.TM Mandoline Slicer

If you are anything like me, you love having different tools in the kitchen. Kitchen gadgets make your life so much easier. When you have family and kids you have to cook for, saving time is a must. But, combining the two isn’t always easy. That is why I am always looking for kitchen gadgets to save me time, and make my life easier. Prepping foods can be a timely manner, with the slicing, dicing, chopping, and cutting. But, when you have a tool in the kitchen to help you do these things, cooking and preparing a healthy meal for your family can make it easy.

I have recently tried TORO.TM Mandoline Slicer - Stainless Steel Food Processor - Julienne Style Vegetables, Cheese, French Fries - Cheese Grater & Lemon Zester - Includes Safety Guard, Recipe Book & Vegetable Peeler and I got to say it has made preparing homemade dishes easier, faster, and a little fun. I love the fact that is has a finger guard. The finger guard helps keep your fingers and hands safe from the blades. Most Mandolin slicers are very dangerous to use due to their fast acting cutting and their lack of a finger guard. I also like that the TORO.TM Mandoline Slicer comes with 5 different blade types, for different slices and cuts. I enjoyed experimenting with the different cuts and finding which ones work better for which dish and which my family likes the most. My favorite was dicing onions, this way I didn’t have to deal with the teary eyes, and smelly onion fingers.

The one thing I did not like about the Toro.TM Mandoline is that you have to press hard and then lift quickly or the fruit or veggie you are cutting ends up flying. I think if it had more traction on the surface or was able to cling to the surface it would be a lot easier to use. Overall it is still a good kitchen gadget to have in your home, and a great way to speed up prepping time. I also liked that it came with a food peeler for your fruits and veggies and an ebook for recipes. 

If you are a parent of a baby who is just eating baby foods or solids, this is a great tool to use to make the foods your baby is eating smaller. This way you can make homemade baby food, or smaller pieces your baby with teeth can chew easy.
