Due to health reasons I had to stop
breastfeeding my daughter. A bottle warmer became an essential to use, to help transition
her from breast to bottle. Having warm milk, rather it was breast milk or formula, is a must for a brand new baby. Or just to help make the transition easier.
Plus warm milk is easier on a baby’s tummy then cold, or room temperature milk.
I have used a number of different
bottle warmers, and a number of different ways to warm a bottle. Some ways work
better than others, but a bottle warmer is much easier and convenient to use. I
have used a few different brands and styles of bottle warmers with my kids.
I’ve used Philips AVENT Bottle Warmer
, Munchkin High Speed Bottle Warmer, and Maxx Elite "Digital Gentle Warm" Bottle Warmer.
I have got to say that the Avent Bottle Warmer was my favorite. It heated up a bottle within a minute, and worked well with other bottles as well. Although, I used a much older model from 2004, I am sure the new version of Avent’s bottle warmers work just as well with some improvements. I have also used Munchkin bottle warmer and Maxx Elite’s Bottle warmer.
Munchkin High Speed Bottle Warmer, seemed to
have lasted longer. I didn’t like the fact that I had to fill the water up so
much, and that it was hard to tell if it was out of water or not. When it was
out of water the bottom of the warmer would turn brown, almost like a rust look
and it smelled rusty; It was very weird. Being sleep deprived and trying to fix
a bottle in the middle of the night, you are not trying to fight with a bottle
warmer and it’s issues. You just want one that works and does the job right the
first time so you and your baby can both go back to sleep sooner and fuss free.
Just recently I had tried out Maxx Elite "Digital Gentle Warm" Bottle Warmer & Sterilizer w/"Steady Warm" and LCD Display
. I have got to say this one looks
like it is quality made. It has a few different settings, where I am just use
to the little timer switch. You can even sterilize your bottle with this
warmer. If you choose to use the larger bottles such as Dr. Brown’s they will
not fit, although you can still warm up the bottle it just takes a little
longer. The top pokes out of the top of the warmer.
I enjoyed that the Elite Bottle Warmer had a few different options; sterilizer, gentle warmer, and an express warmer.
Having a few more options is always a plus. Although, I was not a fan of the
gentle warmer option. I thought that the gentle warm option made this bottle
warmer unique and worth the buy, but for my baby and I, it didn’t work out so
well. It was hard to use this feature, when my baby was screaming to be feed.
Waiting 8 minutes feels like an eternity when your baby is hungry. It is also difficult
when you are trying to wean your baby from nursing. A screaming hungry baby
does not help this matter. I wasn’t the biggest fan of
this warmer, but did like that it had other features, and a unique design.
